When you first come to Japan, it can be difficult to know what services and facilities offered at homes and apartments are considered high end or expensive. The following is a list of expensive services and facilities - these are things you probably won't see offered in an average, ordinary apartment building.
)Package Delivery Box (Takuhai Box) This service consists of an established space at the entrance of some apartment buildings. If the deliveryman comes with a package, but the person is not home to receive it, he can leave and lock the package in this designated parcel box. Later, by punching in a code number or card people are able to access their delivered packages, which is really convenient!
)Security Lock The entrance to the apartment building has a security lock, or requires a security number or card to enter.
)Monitors or Auto-lock door systems.
)DSL, internet connection, cable TV
)Security camera or observation camera to view visitors at your building/room entrance
)Floor heating
)Kitchen equipped with dishwasher, oven and/or microwave.
)Bidet (or heated toilet)
)Parking lot |
