Some of you who have lived long in Japan may have heard of the word ‘Bunjo-Chintai’.
This term refers to leased rooms, which were originally constructed for sale.
Due to the high price of these properties—some are priced at ten to a hundred million yen—the facilities are very high end.
The reason that owners of these properties lease them out rather than live there themselves are:
1. the owner cannot live there due to a job transfer
2. the owner bought it for investment purposes.
You can find some of the facilities ‘Bunjo-Chintai’ rooms are equipped with on the ‘High-end housing’ page. Buildings are usually constructed out of steel-reinforced concrete or reinforced concrete, which is effective in both earthquake resistance and sound insulation.
With that said, if you come across a regular apartment and a ‘Bunjo-Chintai’ apartment offered for the same rent, why don’t you check out the ‘Bunjo-Chintai’ rooms first?
