TB -- Nice to meet you. So, have you been living in Tokyo for two years?
L San -- Actually, no. I taught English on Sado Island for two years. I just moved to Tokyo in August.
TB -- Whoa! What kind of housing did you live in on Sado?
L San -- I lived in a teacher's housing apartment building.
TB -- And now what kind of housing are you living in?
L San -- Now I live in a guesthouse.
TB -- How did you find out about it?
L San -- My friend actually told me about it. I wasn't really sure how to go about looking for a place until my friend suggested a guesthouse.
TB -- I seeノdo you have roommates then?
L San -- Yes. There are three of us. We each have our own room, but we share a kitchen and bathroom. There are guesthouses that have 10 or 20 people, but I thought it would be hard to study or relax in a situation like that. Also, I kind of wanted to avoid a living environment where I would only be speaking English. Actually, now one of my roommates is Japanese which is really nice and since there are only three of us, and we're all girls it is really nice.
TB -- It sounds nice. How much is your rent?
L San -- Electricity, water, and internet are all included and it's 73,000 yen a month. Also, every Wednesday someone comes to clean our common areas.
TB -- What!? Really?? Wow.
L San -- Also, it's really easy to contact the main office, so if there are any problems I know that I can reach them, which is really convenient.
TB -- That's great that you could find a nice place. Thank you.
